Teeth Braces For Adults At Dentist Near Alton, Hampshire

A patient came to Time Dental in Farnham wanting to know the options for straightening her front tooth.  She previously had orthodontic braces as a teenager and had now noticed that her teeth especially on the upper front had now drifted and were no longer straight.  She was not keen on wearing train track orthodontic braces and wanted to know if there were any alternatives.

This is a very common concern for adults who have had orthodontic braces.  Retainers are only worn for a short period of time but the teeth end up drifting again and become crooked.  To reduce the risk of teeth moving again we now recommend retainers for life.  In this particular case her upper front tooth was set back from the rest of her teeth which end up giving her a crossbite.  She did also have some mild crowding near the back, but this was not a major concern for her.

We discussed her options with invisble clear adult braces by Invisalign, and also the fast working new adult brace – the Inman Aligner.  Both options work in very different ways.  The Invisalign adult brace system uses a series of clear aligners that are virtually invisible.  They incrementally move the teeth by changing to a new set of aligners every 2 weeks.  This adult teeth brace system can take between 8-24 months depending on the degree of crowding.

The other option is the Inman aligner.  Although it is not as invisible as the Invisalign system it is a removable brace that uses special spring loaded components that very gently squeezes the teeth into a straight position, and it can take between 8-14 weeks normally!  A very popular choice for adults due to the speed of the treatment to achieve straight teeth.

Time Dental provides the adult braces system for the Alton, Fleet< Farnborough, and Godalming areas as well as surrounding areas in Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex and Berkshire.  Call us to see how we can help you on 01252 723008.  Time Dental- private dental care at its best.
