A patient came to Time Dental looking for a gentle dentist to look after her dental care.  She was also in pain from a tooth that had been broken for 6 months.  She had not been to a dentist in 6-8 years as she had a bad experience in the past and was now completely put off seeing one.

After discussing her inital concerns she told us that she was now experiencing throbbing tooth ache from her broken tooth.  She was also keen to explore the options on straightening her upper teeth.  She had orthodontic treatment as a child but her teeth had now relapsed.

We discussed her options for adult braces to straighten her teeth.  She had quite significant crowding or overlapping of her upper incisors which she was very conscious about.  She was a good candidate for either the Inman aligner or invisalign adult orthodontic system.

The inman aligner is a removable adult brace that is relatively transparent.  It uses springs which gently squeeze the teeth into a straighter position in a matter of weeks.  A great option for adults who are looking for a quick way to straighten their teeth and ahve a confident smile.

Invisalign clear aligner is a virtually invisible adult brace system that uses clear aligners that are worn for 2 weeks at a time.  They gradually move the teeth as each aligner is changed.  Treatment time can take between 8-24 months depending on the movements that need to be done.

Her broken tooth had started to give her pain, so after assessing the tooth the nerve had been infected so root canal therapy was carried out.  Many people dread hearing the words root canal therapy.  This is understandable, however at Time Dental we provide pain-free dentistry and that means you will not be able to feel anything during our treatment time.  Root canal therapy essentially means cleaning the infected root system of the tooth and then filling it so that re-infection cannout occur.
