Tooth whitening is still as popular as ever. It very easy and safe to do when carried out using the professional tooth whitening products supplied by your dentist. There are two main methods:
In-office tooth whitening. This is where a concentrated tooth whitening gel is placed on the teeth for an hour and can make instant results. Some gels need light activation. sometimes called “laser” tooth whitening other systems do not need the light and are chemically activated and can achieve the same result.
The other method is professional at-home tooth whitening. This is where specially made custom fit whitening trays are loaded with a gel and the trays are worn in the mouth for 1 hour. Some systems require you to wear them over night. This depends on the type of gel used and the concentration of it. Your dentist will be able to advise.
