Which Is Better An Electric Or Manual Toothbrush?

Multitasking with skydiving and doing the Rubik's cube reported by dentist local to Hampshire

Skydiving and doing the Rubik’s cube?? Now that is very odd multitasking!

A skydiver entered the Guinness book of world records for completing the Rubik’s cube whilst in a wind tunnel in just over 3 minutes. Achieving this feat at Basingstoke lesiure park in Hampshire- he now plans to do it while free falling for real! Whilst multitasking like this is difficult many people think that using your electric toothbrush like a manual toothbrush will be twice as efficient. It is not.

So is an electric tooth brush better than a manual one?

It is all down to technique. If you have the correct technique and use a small manual toothbrush then this maybe fine. However most people struggle with the best technique for using a manual toothbrush and use an electric which is much easier. I would avoid the battery operated ones.

Which electric toothbrush is best?

Again this comes down to technique. The leading brands are: Oral B and Philips Sonicare. They both work in different ways. But if your technique is good they both will do the job efficiently.

To make sure you have the best technique check out Time Dental’s resident hygienist showing the way to use an electric toothbrush- here.
