Teeth straightening for adults

Advances in materials and techniques in the dental world has really astounding in the last fifteen years. This has resulted in many more options for dental treatment which can now be offered to patients. It used to be that only the very wealthy and film stars were able to afford these types of treatment. The techniques were new back then and as a result very expensive.

Nowadays it is a different story, and a Time Dental, we use the latest techniques and materials, which is why we offer Invisalign in Guildford.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic system that can help to align crooked teeth or close gappy spaces. Having this type of problem can make people feel very self conscious about their smile and will often hide smile with their lips shut or place a hand over the mouth. In the age of phone cameras, this can really affect your day to day life.

Some people are so self conscious about their smile even the thought of having any orthodontic brackets fitted to their teeth is not something they wish to do. That is why at Time Dental we offer Invisalign in Guildford.

Unlike traditional orthodontic braces that use metal brackets, Invisalign uses clear aligners that are made of a special high grade medical plastic. It is so strong the aligners can be made very thin which makes them look virtually invisible to the naked eye. The Invisalign aligners are custom fit bespoke aligners that are made specifically for your teeth. Using computer assisted technology, Invisalign can carefully predict what movements need to be made to achieve your final result and also how many aligners it will take to achieve this.

How does Invisalign work?

The aligners fit snugly over the teeth so they are very comfortable to wear. They are typically worn for 22 hours a day and are only taken out if you are eating, brushing your teeth or having a hot drink. So this enables you to easily keep your teeth and gums healthy while having the treatment. Each aligner is worn for two weeks and as time progresses the aligners gradually move your teeth into the correct position giving you a straight smile.
