Your path to a perfectly
polished smile

Veneers are individually handcrafted bespoke ceramic restorations that are bonded to teeth. They allow us to improve aesthetics, form and function of your teeth and smile. They last for 10 -15 years and do not discolour over time. Veneers can help to improve rotated, misshapen, discoloured or broken teeth. Whether you want a subtle improvement of your smile or you want to make more of an impact, discuss your options with us today.

Why have dental veneers?

If you are looking to improve your smile, whether it’s a single tooth or a smile makeover, porcelain veneers may be your answer. Veneers are thin laminate porcelain facings which are bonded onto the teeth and are extremely strong in place.

At Time Dental we only work with the best dental labs for the highest quality porcelain veneers. Using photographs, we discuss the colour, shape and form of the teeth in detail with the ceramist to help create your ideal smile with veneers.

What is involved in having veneers?

The initial steps for creating your new smile with porcelain veneers involves taking impressions of your teeth. These are sent to the laboratory to provide a 3D wax model of how your veneers will look. Once you are completely happy with your 3D model the preparation visit for your veneers will be scheduled.

On the preparation visit for your smile makeover the teeth are first anaesthetised for your complete comfort. The teeth are then prepared and recontoured by your cosmetic dentist. Impressions are then taken of the prepared teeth and provisional veneers are fitted. These provisional veneers are your trial smile and allow you to give feedback to your cosmetic dentist to ensure you are happy with the shape of provisional veneers.

The impressions of the prepared teeth are then made into stone models. Highly trained master ceramists will then handcraft the individual bespoke porcelain veneers and in different shades, textures and translucency to make the veneers look just like real teeth. Once the porcelain veneers are glazed by the master ceramist, they are sent back to your cosmetic dentist for the fit appointment of your new smile makeover.

On the fit appointment of your porcelain veneers, the teeth are again anaesthetised for maximum comfort. The provisional veneers are removed and the porcelain veneers are bonded onto the teeth with a very strong composite resin. Your smile makeover with porcelain veneers is now complete.

Frequently asked questions

How can I get veneers?

If you are interested in porcelain veneers and live in the Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, or West Sussex area then please feel free to contact us at Time Dental for a consultation to discuss your options. We treat a variety of patients in Farnham and the surrounding areas such as Fleet, Alton, Farnborough and Winchester.

How do I look after my veneers?

After fitting, it is important to keep your veneer well-maintained with regular brushing and flossing. Your dentist and hygienist will show you how to keep on top of your dental hygiene and keep a close eye on the health of your teeth and gums.

What happens to teeth under veneers?

In many cases, fitting porcelain veneers requires some of your natural tooth enamel to be removed. Therefore, they are an irreversible treatment, designed to be kept on your teeth permanently.

How long do veneers last?

Your veneers themselves can last up to 15 years before needing to be replaced, depending on how well you look after them.

Are veneers painful?

You shouldn’t find either the treatment for veneers or the veneers themselves painful. We use local anaesthetic to minimise your discomfort during the preparation and fitting process, and ensure you are relaxed and ready before beginning any treatment. Most patients experience no pain or discomfort at all. You may feel some sensitivity once your veneers have been fitted, but this will go after a few days.

Can veneers break?

Although veneers are resilient, it is important to treat them with care, so try not to bite your fingernails or chew pen tops, or use your teeth to open anything. Also, it is probably best to steer clear of very hard foods that could cause damage to the veneer.
