Top tips for sparkly teeth this Christmas
Here are 5 top tips to keeping your teeth sparkly this Christmas:
- DON’T use baking soda regularly. Baking soda is great for cleaning your house but if used regualrly on your teeth it is very abrasive and will wear away your enamel making your teeth look darker.
- DON’T guzzle energy drinks. As well as the usual drinks such as tea, coffee and red wine stay away from energy drinks. Energy drinks are usually high in colour and are often extremely acidic and high in sugar. So they will erode your teeth as well as rot them. If you still need a pcik me up, try drinking it thorough a straw to bypass your teeth.
- Regularly change your toothbrush. The bristles on your toothbursh will wear down and splay over time. Either change your toothbrush every 3 months or as soon as you see the bristles beginning to bend. That way your making sure your toothbrush is working at its best.
- Rinse your mouth after citrus fruits. If you regularly eat citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons or limes or drink fresh orange juice the acid content will also wear away your enamel making your teeth look darker. Try rinsing your mouth out with water immediately after eating these fruits to wash the destructive acid off your teeth.
- Use professional teeth whitening gel instead of strips. Whitening strips do not distribute the gel evenly on the teeth especially around the gum line of the teeth which is darker. Custom fit whitening trays are specially designed to seal gel over the whole tooth surface.
